What it's about: A documentary about the Crypt Keeper.
Thoughts Before Viewing: I didn’t have any DVDs laying around, and Netflix Watch Instant wasn’t working so I went through the On Demand movies to see if there was anything good on there. I try to stay away from movies that I can get from the Redbox or Netflix, as there’s no point in spending 7 bucks for something I can easily get for much cheaper. Because of that I usually go straight to the Independent section. This movie was recently added and I had been hearing some good things. I’m not a Joan Rivers fan, but that’s only because I really don’t know anything about her comedy. I’m at the age (27 years old) where Joan Rivers is just the scary looking lady that makes fun of what celebrities are wearing at award shows. A lot of comedies say that she’s very funny, let’s find out.
Thoughts After Viewing: I always find it interesting to see how stand up comedians are always so insecure. Joan Rivers has been around forever; you might not know what she does but you know who she is. That doesn’t mean a thing to her, she’s still reading the reviews and getting angry when someone “doesn’t get her jokes.” The documentary was good, but did it change my opinion about her? Not really, I didn’t think the little bit of stand up that was shown was very funny. Maybe I’ll rent one of Tonight Show DVDs... Nah, I don’t care enough.
